George R. MacCartney Jr. is a Ph.D. candidate at the Tandon School of Engineering at New York University (NYU) in the NYU WIRELESS research center under the advisement of Prof. Theodore S. Rappaport. He has authored or co-authored over 35 technical papers in the field of millimeter-wave (mmWave) propagation measurements and models. His research interests include mmWave channel sounder prototyping and mmWave measurements, models, and analysis for 5G communications. He previously received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, in 2010 and 2011, respectively.  He has a diverse background in industry experience through previous employment with: Apple, SiBeam, Newfield Wireless, Lockheed Martin: Advanced Technology Laboratories, Lockheed Martin: IS&GS, and Xorail. George is originally from Aston, PA, but currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. He is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys running, reading, drawing, weightlifting, and photography.
