George R. MacCartney, Jr. received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in May 2018. While at NYU Tandon, George was a researcher in the NYU WIRELESS research center under the advisement of Prof. Theodore S. Rappaport. He has authored or co-authored over 40 technical papers in the field of millimeter-wave propagation measurements and models. His research interests include mmWave channel sounding and mmWave measurements, models, and analysis for 5G communications. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University. He has a diverse background in industry experience through previous employment at: SiBeam, Lockheed Martin: Advanced Technology Laboratories, Lockheed Martin: IS&GS, and Xorail. George is from Pennsylvania, lived in Brooklyn, and now resides in California, where he works at Apple Inc. He is an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoys running, reading, drawing, cooking, weightlifting, and photography.
